MISSIONS EMPHASIS WEEK SONG

“Facing a Task Unfinished” was first written in 1929 by Frank Houghton, a missionary in China during a time of persecution of Christians. In 2016 Keith and Kristin Getty added a chorus to the hymn and encouraged churches all over the world to sing it as a call to missions. We sing it this week to remind us of the unfinished task of missions and our role in it.

EVENING SERVICE

Tonight at 5 p.m. we conclude our Missions Emphasis Week with a prayer service for our missionaries. Join us in the Fireside Room. We will then split into groups to both pray for and write notes of encouragement to our missionaries.

EVENING OFFERING

Youth Unlimited helps churches challenge youth to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and transform this world for him. Youth Unlimited is a non-profit, non-denominational ministry that focuses on assisting local congregations in their youth ministry. We strongly believe that the local church is the tool God created to reveal himself to the world. We know that taking the call of ministering to today’s youth is not for the faint of heart. Therefore, we are blessed by encouraging, supporting, equipping, and partnering with congregations across North America to reach this generation for Jesus Christ.

THIS WEEK marks the end of our annual Missions Emphasis Week. We anticipate a great visit from Pastor Jim Wolff and Lawndale CRC in the morning service. Please join us as we share lunch with our friends from Lawndale in the Fellowship Hall.

BENEVOLENCE FUND UPDATE Last year at this time, the Benevolence Fund contained $23,802.62. The fund as of the end of September sits at $13,823.11. While the fund is still healthy, an increase in need has decreased the fund to its current level. The deacons would like to remind everyone that all unallocated funds that are collected on a communion Sunday will be deposited into the Benevolence Fund. If you use your weekly offering envelope, your offering will be deposited in whatever you designate on the envelope. If, however, you leave the envelope blank, it will be deposited into the Benevolence Fund. Thank you.
