SONG OF THE SERIES
In this series on the Second Life of Peter we will sing Sing! A New Creation #267 “Will You Come and Follow Me.” This song from the Iona Community in Scotland gets at the complexity of discipleship, where Jesus doesn’t just say “Follow Me” but also asks that the disciple look outward and inward. Outward actions include helping the blind to see and setting the prisoner free, while inwardly we are called to love the person we hide and quell the fear inside. This month we seek to turn and follow Jesus, that we may never be the same.
Tonight at 5 p.m. we will continue our study of Eugene Peterson’s book on Jeremiah, Run with the Horses.
For 48 years, STRAT has been coming alongside inner city churches and the people they serve. There is still danger, hunger, unmet healthcare needs, unemployment, housing needs, and others which these churches must help people contend with. STRAT is a resource that the leaders there depend on.

Texts: Matthew 16:13-20; Acts 4:8-20 Title: “What’s My Name?”
Summary: Like Peter, we work best not in our name but in the name of Jesus.
- When has your name or identity changed?
- When have you tried to do the work of God in your own name?
- What examples do you have of God doing something through you that you couldn’t have done yourself?
