Janelle Buford hails from Western Washington and has served as the WCRC organist since autumn 2010, after graduating with a bachelor of music in composition from Wheaton College. Her aim is to play with artistry, sensitivity, and stylistic versatility so that WCRC’s congregants may experience transcendent, transformative worship. She loves the study of the ancient and global church’s many worship traditions. She has a heart in particular for her own generation’s budding worship traditions and her contribution to it as a young organist. She would love to hear your story of how worship has shaped your faith. If you sing or play an instrument, she would love you to join the music team! When Janelle is not practicing the organ, she is cooking, composing, reading, listening to avant-garde music, or drinking tea with friends.
