Our worship begins at 10:30 am during the school year (late August to early June) and 9:30 am during the summer months. Worship usually lasts around 75 minutes and includes prayers, songs, and a sermon based on Scripture. We follow the classic Reformed pattern of Approach to God (including a call to worship, songs of praise, and a service of confession and forgiveness), Word of God (including Scripture and the sermon), and Response to God (which includes a congregational prayer, an offering, a sending song, and the benediction). The songs, prayers, and Scripture change weekly, but the structure of worship remains largely the same. We sing a mixture of hymns, contemporary songs, and songs from around the world. While piano and organ are staples of our music, we also regularly incorporate classical and contemporary instruments into our worship.

The typical dress for those who attend worship might be termed business casual, although some people will dress more formally (in suits or dresses) and some less formally (jeans or shorts, etc.). Our hope is that all feel comfortable and free to worship God as they are.

We encourage children preschool age and older to participate in worship with their parents. Just before the sermon, children ages 3 through 1st grade are encouraged to leave the service to go to 3- and 4-year-old Sunday school and children’s worship. Both are centered on a Bible story. Nursery for infants and toddlers is provided in the lower level of our facility. Our nursery attendants are carefully selected and have all signed compliance forms for our abuse-prevention policy. The nursery also has a pager system so that parents can be contacted if their child is distressed.

Following worship, we gather in the Fellowship Hall (lower level) for coffee, snacks, and fellowship. Please join us for this time to connect with others from our WCRC community.
